ScamBusters: Dreams Come True Scam

If someone approaches you by phone, email or via letter making you an offer that seems too good to be true--- it probably is!

Here are some examples of reported attempts at fraud:

Someone at the bank of China has $17.3 million that they want to share with you.
An attorney representing an estate of someone with your surname says you may be entitled to $3 million.
You’ve won the UK lottery. (Remember, you’ve got to play to win.)
Earn $500 a day just for answering the phone.

There are probably dozens more ways that fraudsters try to fool you. Use rational judgment when evaluating a scenario that is presented to you. Try not to get caught up in the attractive "dangling carrot."
