Free Annual Credit Reports

U.S. citizens are now eligible for a free annual credit report from each of the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies: TransUnion, Experian and Equifax.

Monitoring and periodically reviewing your credit reports is an effective tool in fighting identity theft. It also gives you the opportunity to discover any errors that might cause you to have a lower credit score than you deserve (see information on FICO scores).
