Multifactor Authentication

BTFCU will soon be using Multifactor Authentication for its online services.

Multifactor Authentication is a new tool that provides added protection for your online data and helps guard against fraudulent online activities, like Phishing scams and Identity Theft. Using more than one factor to identify you as a user will give you more protection online than using single factor approaches such as using only a password.

Virtual Branch

When using Virtual Branch (our online banking) you will note that sign-on screens will be different. You will see a “secret image” and phrase you have chosen to ensure that you are logging onto the actual online banking site. Plus, the system recognizes your computer and usage patterns. If a questionable logon is detected, the system will require additional identity verification.

Electronic Bill Pay

When using Electronic Bill Payment, the sign-on screen will produce a cue that is unique for each user. The user will always see the same cue which will be a short word appearing on a solid background. Users who do not see the normal cue should not continue with the logon as absence of the cue could indicate that the site is not secure. A one time security code will be emailed to users in order to get set up with this enhanced security.

Please call us with any questions at 610-691-0041.
