BTFCU scholarship program.

Bethlehem 1st Federal Credit Union has designated $3,000 in scholarship funds to help our young members defray costs as they strive to realize their educational goals.

We are offering a total of three $1,000 scholarships to members who are entering an institution of higher learning in the fall of 2015.

Application Deadline:
Wednesday, April 30, 2015

What if a student is not a member but would like to apply for a scholarship?

The student can join the credit union and then apply for a scholarship. Joining is easy: simply open an account with as little as $10 to become a member!

Normal eligibility requirements for membership apply. The student must be one of the following:

  • Related to a current member
  • An employee of a Select Employee Group (SEG)
  • A student attending the following area high schools:
    • Bethlehem Area Vo-Tech
    • Bethlehem Catholic High School
    • Freedom High School
    • Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts
    • Liberty High School

Student Care Package Available

Scholarship Requirements:

  • Applicant must be a member who is a high school senior.
  • Applicant must complete a Scholarship Application which includes a written essay.
  • Applicant must be accepted at an institution of higher learning and must provide proof of acceptance.

Time Line:

  • Scholarship applications will be accepted through April 30, 2015.
  • Scholarship recipients will be chosen May 5, 2015.

Scholarship recipients will be chosen randomly from the applications that have been received by the April 30, 2015 deadline. Only applicants who successfully comply with the scholarship requirements will be considered. Recipients will be notified by phone and by letter of their Scholarship award.
